Well, I know Sigma as 3rd party lenses company, but I just know that Sigma SD14 is such a good DLSR as well. It might not have that much pixels (only 4.7MPixels max--but they claimed 14MPixels because of the sensor gets all RGB separately which make it 14MPixels worth,) but it's definitely worth to take a look since so far you can grab the body at around $400 or so. That makes it almost the most affordable one. Different approach for sensor makes this camera stand out of the crowd pretty well, but as usual market would have respond better than this if it was Nikon or Canon.
